The Boxing Girls of Kabul

A group of young Afghan women strive to become world-class boxers, training without the benefit of the most basic facilities at the national stadium. Boxing champion Sadaf Rahimi defies death threats and social taboos to train for the Olympics in a stadium once used for public executions. Alongside other Afghan women fighters, she battles not only in the ring but also against a society that condemns her ambition. This sports documentary captures their grit and courage in post-Taliban Kabul.
