Macready!

Frank Barrie performs as the legendary English actor William Macready in a televised version of Barrie's internationally successful one-man show. The play relates highlights of Macready's life, from being the first actor/director to insist on rehearsals and championing the need to remain faithful to the original Shakespearean texts. The production also recounts Macready's ill-fated trip to the USA, which was the direct cause of the 1849 Astor Place Riot in New York.
