Hero

Bernie LaPlante, a cynical petty thief, reluctantly rescues passengers from a crashed airliner and disappears, losing a shoe in the process. When a TV station offers a million-dollar reward to find the 'Angel of Flight 104,' a charming homeless man named John Bubber, who has Bernie's shoe, steps forward. Bubber becomes a media sensation while Bernie, the true but reluctant hero, must decide whether to expose the truth or let the lie continue.
