Journalism student Mia Scott falls under the spell of cutthroat reporter Diane Heger. To win her approval for a class project, Mia unethically manipulates a story about Igor, the grieving son of a deceased author. She gets the story by exploiting his trauma, but Diane ultimately steals the piece and airs it as her own. Mia then gets her revenge by exposing Diane's deception, leading to the reporter's public downfall.
