Lenz

An adaptation of Georg Büchner's novella, this film follows the poet Jakob Lenz as his grip on reality fractures after moving to New York in the early 1980s. Taken in by a kind man, Lenz's inner world becomes a surreal landscape of bizarre encounters and disjointed monologues. The narrative chronicles his psychological breakdown through an experimental lens, documenting his slide into madness and alienation from the world around him.
