Neither Donkey Nor Horse

In early 20th century Manchuria, a fast-spreading plague devastates the population. Dr. Wu, a Chinese doctor with a Western education, finds himself at odds with both traditional Chinese medicine and arrogant foreign doctors. He proposes a radical theory that the plague is airborne, not bubonic. Risking imprisonment, he performs a forbidden autopsy to prove his findings and develop a mask that could save millions, challenging old beliefs with modern science.
