To celebrate their thirtieth anniversary, a British couple, Nick and Meg, return to Paris, the site of their honeymoon. Their attempt to rejuvenate their marriage is fraught with bickering and long held resentments. A chance encounter with Nick's successful old university friend forces them to confront the choices they've made, their feelings for each other, and what the future might hold for them, leading to a poignant and funny climax.
