Hans Christian Andersen

A whimsical, fictionalized biography of storyteller Hans Christian Andersen. As a village cobbler, his tales delight children but anger the local schoolmaster, forcing him to leave for Copenhagen. There, he falls in love with a beautiful ballerina and writes "The Little Mermaid" for her, believing his love is returned. After facing heartbreak, he returns home, finally embracing his true calling as a celebrated writer of fairytales.
