Ball of Fire

A group of naive professors working on a new encyclopedia need to research modern slang. They meet Sugarpuss O'Shea, a wisecracking nightclub singer who is the exact source they need. She moves in with them to hide from the police, who want her testimony against her mob boss lover. While the professors learn about slang and life outside their books, a sweet romance blossoms between Sugarpuss and the lead professor.
