Hollywood barn dance

After accidentally burning down their town church, a young country-western band led by Ernie Tubb decides to raise the 2000 needed for rebuilding. They set out on the road, performing for their supper and facing misadventures with a well-meaning but unreliable manager. Their journey takes them towards Hollywood, leading to romance, an audition for a popular radio show, and a triumphant return home for a fundraising barn dance broadcast.
