In a lush corner of southern Belize, this documentary follows a year in the life of Eladio Pop, a dedicated cacao farmer. Following the traditions of his Mayan ancestors, Eladio works as a steward of the land. The film captures the Pop family's tender and moving struggle to preserve their cultural values and way of life against the pressures of a rapidly modernizing world, questioning the very definition of progress and lamenting the loss of ancient cultures.
