Rise of the Freemen

Radicalized by debt and anti government beliefs, a group of Montana farmers and ranchers called the Freemen declare themselves sovereign from the U.S. They create their own laws and perpetrate a massive financial fraud scheme. An extensive undercover FBI operation leads to the arrest of their leaders, culminating in an 81 day armed standoff, the longest in the bureau's history. The documentary explores the events leading to this dramatic confrontation.
