Stargate

An ancient artifact discovered in Egypt, the StarGate, is activated, revealing a portal to a distant planet. A military team led by Colonel Jack O'Neil and linguist Daniel Jackson steps through. They find a civilization of humans enslaved by an alien being named Ra, who poses as the Egyptian sun god. When Ra plots to send a powerful bomb to Earth, the team must lead a rebellion to defeat him, save both worlds, and secure a path back home.
