In this 1929 test short, cartoonist Rudolf Ising draws Bosko, a cheerful character who magically comes to life on the drawing paper. Bosko immediately showcases his personality by dancing, whistling, and playing the piano. The short combines a live action framing device with animated sequences, exploring the interaction between an artist and his animated creation. It served as the pilot for the first recurring character in Warner Bros.' Looney Tunes series.
