His Brave Defender

This 1900 British silent short film finds comedy in a perilous situation. When a burglar breaks into a couple's home and ties up the wife, her husband, instead of confronting the intruder, opts to hide under the bed. The film's humor is derived from this ironic and unexpected display of cowardice, creating a farcical scene based on the subversion of heroic expectations.
