In this classic silent short, a man's attempt at a quiet evening is disrupted by supernatural forces. As he tries to remove his top hat and overcoat, a mischievous poltergeist repeatedly makes them reappear on his body. No matter his efforts, even trying to pin the clothes down, the magical prank continues. This film is a prime example of Georges Méliès' pioneering use of trick photography to create a comical and fantastical spectacle.
