Bars And Stripes Forever

Set in 'Alcarazz' prison, this 1939 Merrie Melodies cartoon features a cast of canine prisoners attempting various breakouts. The warden must deal with their anarchic and surreal escape plans. The film is a classic example of fast paced, slapstick humor, filled with visual gags, a shootout, and spoofs, as the dogs try every trick to gain their freedom from the big house.
