Those Awful Hats

This short silent comedy from D.W. Griffith is set inside an early cinema. Various patrons, including a man in a top hat and several women in increasingly ludicrous, view-blocking hats, take their seats. After polite gestures fail to resolve the issue, the theater employs a giant crane to forcibly remove the offending headwear, offering a humorous meta commentary on moviegoing manners.
