The Barnyard Battle

In this early animated short, Mickey Mouse takes on the role of a military leader for a group of farm mice. When their home is threatened by an invading army of cats, the mice must band together to defend their land. The conflict is depicted as a miniature version of the American Civil War, complete with military uniforms, battlefield tactics, and a clear sense of wartime struggle between the two opposing animal forces. It is a classic cartoon battle of wits and might.
