The Enchanted Drawing

In this groundbreaking silent film from 1900, cartoonist J. Stuart Blackton stands beside an easel. He sketches a man's face, and through the magic of early stop motion animation, the drawing becomes animated. Blackton offers the drawing a glass of wine and a cigar, which disappear from his hand and appear on the paper. The drawing's expression changes, creating a whimsical and surreal interaction between creator and creation.
