Dream of a Rarebit Fiend

In this 1906 silent short, a man overindulges in Welsh rarebit and suffers wild, hallucinatory dreams. He is tormented by imps, his bed spins and flies through the city, and he experiences a cascade of mind bending visuals. Based on Winsor McCay's comic strip, this pioneering film is a landmark of early cinema, renowned for its creative use of stop motion animation and surreal camera tricks to depict a bizarre nightmare world.
