The Musketeers of Pig Alley

Considered the first gangster film, this D.W. Griffith short follows a poor musician and his young wife living in a New York City tenement. Their simple life is disrupted when the husband is robbed by a local gangster. Later, during a street shootout between rival mobs, the couple gets caught in the crossfire. The husband must navigate this dangerous underworld to try and reclaim what was stolen from him in a world where crime often goes unpunished.
