Matt Shepard Is A Friend of Mine

Directed by his close friend Michele Josue, this intimate documentary explores the life of Matthew Shepard beyond the headlines. Through home videos and emotional interviews with loved ones, it paints a portrait of a hopeful young man whose life was cut short by a brutal anti gay hate crime in 1998. The film examines the devastating aftermath, the media storm, the court case against his killers, and the enduring legacy of his parents' activism which led to federal hate crime legislation.
