A young American art restorer named Lisa accepts a job in a remote Italian village to restore a blackened medieval painting for the enigmatic Duchess Malvizi. As she works, she is plagued by horrific nightmares that feel disturbingly real. She soon uncovers a sinister secret: the Duchess and her family maintain their eternal youth by sacrificing people to a monstrous being connected to the painting's curse.
