Potato Dreams of America

An autobiographical dark comedy following Potato, a gay boy growing up in the collapsing Soviet Union. Fueled by a love for American movies, he and his mother escape to the US after she becomes a mail order bride. Their American dream takes a strange turn as they navigate cultural shock, religious fundamentalism with a closeted transgender stepfather, and Potato's own journey of coming out and finding his identity in a bewildering new country.
