Judas

In 1959 Jerusalem, a student, Shmuel Ash, drops out of university and takes a live in job as a companion to an elderly intellectual, Gershom Wald. His thesis on Jewish views of Jesus and Judas Iscariot sparks deep debates with Gershom. Shmuel also develops a complex relationship with Atalia, the mysterious widow of Gershom's son. The story is a tender coming of age tale about love, betrayal, faith, and the nascent state of Israel.
