Gemma Bovery

Bored with her marriage and life in the French countryside, Gemma Bovery, an English expatriate, begins an extramarital affair. Her life is closely observed by her neighbor, Martin, a baker and Gustave Flaubert enthusiast. He becomes convinced Gemma is a modern day Madame Bovary, destined for a tragic fate. As her life begins to imitate the novel, Martin's obsession grows, leading to a blend of dark comedy, romance, and unforeseen tragedy.
