Gerrie Coetzee

From apartheid South Africa, boxer Gerrie Coetzee's career was nearly ended by a recurring hand injury. After radical surgery created his "bionic" fist, he fought his way to the top. This documentary chronicles his journey through brutal fights, political controversy, and personal determination to become the WBA heavyweight champion. He emerged as a man who sought to be a fighter for all people, black and white, in a nation deeply divided by racial conflict.
