In the near future, criminals are imprisoned in a virtual reality system run by a secretive Seattle corporation, Zircon. Its creator, Steven Falcon, discovers risks of system overload and hacker breaches that could let inmates escape. When he threatens to quit, his employers target him and force him into the VR world to uncover the cause before it collapses.
