I Was a Mail Order Bride

Kate, a Chicago magazine writer, assumes the identity of a mail-order bride for an investigative article, leading her to Los Angeles to meet Robert, a lawyer. Unaware of her journalistic intentions, Robert is simultaneously involved in a wager with his friend to maintain a platonic relationship with Kate for two weeks. As genuine feelings develop between them, their deceptions are exposed, culminating in a dramatic libel lawsuit and a final, romantic reconciliation at the train station.
