Kanehsatake 270 Years Of Resistance

This film documents the 1990 Oka Crisis, a historic standoff between the Mohawk nation and the Canadian government. When a town planned to expand a golf course onto sacred Mohawk land, a peaceful protest escalated into a 78-day armed siege involving Quebec police and the Canadian army. The film explores the deep historical roots of the conflict, focusing on issues of indigenous rights, land ownership, and state-sanctioned force against its own citizens.
