Hope of Escape

After the patriarch of a rice plantation dies, his heirs feud over the assets. Diana, a lifelong servant, and her daughter face an uncertain future as their new master wrestles with honouring his father's wishes to free her. The film explores the "above-ground Underground Railroad," where enslaved people were freed through ransom, revealing hope amidst hardship.
