The Big Trees

Kirk Douglas stars in this Warner Bros drama as a ruthless lumber baron fighting for land in Northern California redwood country. The supporting cast includes such great character actors as Edgar Buchanan and Alan Hale Jr, plus Eve Miller as the Quaker woman who tries to convince Douglas that the giant sequoias are sacred and shouldn't be cut down. This stirring feature was directed by Felix E. Feist, the man behind such memorable films as Donovan's Brain and The Devil Thumbs a Ride.
