The Map Reader

In a small New Zealand town, 16-year-old Michael lives a lonely life with his guilt-ridden, alcoholic mother, Amelia. Uncomfortable with his friends' adolescent antics, he escapes into his passion for maps. Unexpected friendships with Alison, a sweet girl with a dark secret, and Mary, a blind young woman nearing adulthood, draw Michael out of his isolation and spark his journey of self-discovery.
