Guilty of Treason

Director Felix Feist (The Devil Thumbs a Ride) helmed this penetrating look at the life of Cardinal Josef Mindzhenty, a Roman Catholic cardinal from Hungary who was persecuted after speaking out against both the Nazi occupation of his country and the Communist regime that replaced it after World War II. The film, which was based partly on Mindszenty's personal papers, features Charles Bickford as Mindzhenty, as well as performances by Bonita Granville and Roland Winters.
