Bumping Into Broadway

She's a chorus girl in unpaid tryouts for a Broadway show, behind on rent, facing eviction. Next door, a struggling writer from Peoria gives her his last dollar to pay "Bearcat," the landlady. He dodges Bearcat and her bouncer while trying to get his comedy read. She, fired and desperate, lunches with a Lothario at a speakeasy. The writer follows, leading to a chaotic roulette bet, a police raid, and a frantic chase.
