Hi-Yo Silver

This 1940 feature version of "The Lone Ranger" 1938 serial, shows the 1st live depiction of the Ranger. Captain Mark Smith of the Confederate Army (masquerading as Col Jefferies) leads a band of deserters to conquer Texas and rule it as a dictator. The Texas Rangers that are sent to investigate are ambushed, but one survives. He is nursed back to health by Tonto and swears to avenge the massacre.
