Bonn, 1779. Eight-year-old Louis van Beethoven, a musical prodigy, is shaped by Tobias Pfeiffer and Christian Gottlob Neefe. His encounter with Mozart and political upheavals inspire him. Despite love and family tragedies, he moves to Vienna for an apprenticeship with Haydn. In 1826, older Beethoven, despite his successes including the Ninth Symphony, struggles with his deafness and missed opportunities.
