El callejón de los milagros

A diverse group of people intersect in Mexico City: Chava dreams of emigrating, Abel loves the beautiful Alma (who ends up in prostitution), and the spinster Susanita desperately seeks love. An adaptation of Naguib Mahfouz's novel, this film explores frustrated desires, hopes, and human tragedies in a vibrant urban setting.
